In keeping with Skip’s wishes his body will be cremated.

Memorial Service will be 1 P.M. Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway.

Friends may call two hours prior to service at the funeral home.

James Franklin “Skip” Scott, 65, of Erbacon, formerly of Proctor, WV passed away March 25, 2019 at Summersville Regional Medical Center.

He was born July 6, 1953 in Sutton to the late Ernest Wilbur Scott, Sr. and Juanita Grace Dobbins Scott.  Skip was also preceded in death by his infant sister, Linda Katherine Scott; infant brother, Kevin Lynn Scott and brother, Darren Lee “Bobby” Scott.

For most of Skip’s life he was a dairy farmer.  He was also a coal miner.  He loved watching NASCAR races.

He is survived by his son, Jamie Lee Scott, of Century; daughters, Tabatha Rae Ketter and husband, Joe of Bridgeport and Clarissa Ane Scott of Pittsburgh, PA, brothers, Ernest W. “Junior” Scott of Mooresville, NC and William Andrew “Bill” Scott and wife, Joyce of Brookwood, AL; sisters, Judy Jackson and husband, Wayne of Lewisburg, Mary Ellen Evans and husband, Darrell of Erbacon and Fay Elizabeth Staton of Mooresville, NC; seven grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and several great and great- great nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Skip’s wishes his body will be cremated.
