Arlene F. Skidmore, 81 of Gassaway, peacefully went to be with her Heavenly Father, November 17, 2017. She was born February 6, 1936, a daughter of the late Martin Ray Mollohan and Iva Lowers Mollohan of Gassaway.

She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Robert W. Skidmore, on June 18, 1955, and was a homemaker. Robert preceded her in death on March 21, 2001. They were married for almost 46 beautiful years.

Arlene was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Elkview for 26 years until moving to Gassaway. There she attended and became a member of Sugar Creek Baptist Church in October, 2000.

She is survived by two sons, Daniel W. Skidmore and wife Debra Skidmore of Ormond Beach, Florida, and Jeffrey E. Skidmore and wife Leslie Skidmore of Gassaway; grandchildren, Joshua, Jordan, and Jadyn Skidmore; one great-grandchild, Jonathan Stricker; three sisters, Bessie Hamric of Massillon, OH, Dolores Phillips and husband Charlie Phillips of Parkersburg,WV, and Carolyn Ellis of Fairmont, WV.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Mabel Crislip, and granddaughter, Michelle Skidmore.

Arlene enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, family, and friends, sharing lots of love and laughter.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Richard M. Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway with Pastor Mark Stump officiating. Interment will be in the Sugar Creek Cemetery, Gassaway.

Visitation will be Monday, November 20, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
