He was born February 23, 1954 a son of the late Virgil and Emmy Evans Hoover. He was owner of H & K Contracting, a Christian and attended Powells Mountain Baptist Church. He was a great whistler and enjoyed ridge riding. He loved to garden and especially loved his grandchildren. He is survived by the love of his life, wife, Karen Bollinger Hoover; children, Alan Hoover and wife, Jess, Kari Halstead and husband, Brian, Staci Falls and husband, Jason and Matt Nettles and wife, Allison; brothers, Ronal Hoover and wife, Shelby and Donal Hoover and wife, Bertha; sisters, Genevie Rose and husband, Roger and Wanda Rose and husband, James; mother-in-law, Mary Bollinger; 18 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters Jan and Jill. Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, December 26 at the Powells Mountain Baptist Church, Birch River with the Rev. Linn Schiefer officiating. Interment will be in the Hoover Cemetery, Birch River. Visitation will be three hours prior the service at the church.
