Vickie Josephine (McClung) Britner, 59, of Sutton, WV, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Braxton County Memorial Hospital as a result of bronchial pneumonia. She was born April 23, 1957 in Richwood, WV, to the late John Douglas and Sylvia Jean McClung. She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Alice Nelson, and son-in-law, Mark Aaron Nelson of Charleston, WV. She is also survived by her sisters, Debra McClung, Theresa Gladwell, Sheryl Andrews, Carrie McClung and Connie McClung, and her brothers, Pete McClung and Douglas McClung, and many nieces and nephews.

She was a graduate of Fairmont State College and Marshall University Graduate College. She worked as a probation officer serving multiple counties in West Virginia until her recent retirement. She was an active member of the St. Thomas Catholic Church for many years and a devoted Catholic throughout her life. Her service and devotion extended to her family, friends and community. Vickie was a lover of music and avid traveler who enjoyed camping, kayaking and white water rafting.

Services will be held at St. Thomas Catholic Church at 624 Kanawha St., Gassaway, WV on Saturday, March 11, 2017. Visitation will be held from 9am until 11am; Rosary will be said at 9am. The funeral mass will be held at 11am, with refreshments to follow. Inurnment services will be held in Nicholas County. Vickie was cremated according to her wishes.
