Carolyn L. Fox (McMillion-Stout), 85, of Sutton, WV, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2026, at Glenville Healthcare Center.

She was born on July 15, 1941, in Riffle, WV to the late Roy and Elva (Shaver) McMillion. She was a Methodist by faith and grew up singing and worshiping at her beloved Riffle Church.

Carolyn graduated from Gassaway High School and spent the majority of her career working in the Braxton County Assessor’s office until her retirement. She worked the afternoon shift for Precision Services in Gassaway.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by sisters Eula Marlene McMillion and Erma Grace Shick (McMillion), and husband James L. Stout.

Survived by her children, Donna Gregory (Frank) of Sutton, WV, James “JR” Stout (Keri) of Mesa, AZ; husband, Donald “Duck” Fox of Sutton, WV; grandchildren, Christy Hacker (Kenneth) of Fairmont, WV, Eric Gregory (Macy) of Sutton, WV, Hayley Stout-Leija (Tyler) and Alyssa Stout of Mesa, AZ, step grandsons, Johnathan, Sean and Bryan Hawkes; six great grandchildren, Kendall, Owen, Noah, Kade, Bryce and Peyton.

Her family wants to send a special thank you to the staff at the Glenville Heath and Rehabilitation Center who loved and cared for Carolyn.

Carolyn’s visitation will be from 11 A.M. till 1 P.M. Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Roach Funeral Home, 708 Braxton Street, Gassaway.

Her graveside service will follow in the Riffle Cemetery, in Riffle, WV.
