Junior Dale Freeman, 76, of Gassaway, WV passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at Braxton Healthcare Center, Sutton, WV.

He was born on April 26, 1950, in Sutton to the late Vaden Freeman and Thelma Maxine Nicholson Freeman.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Minora Adeline Cutlip Nicholson Freeman; siblings, James “Bud” Edward Freeman, Tommey J. Freeman, Bobby Lee Freeman, and Alice Marie Freeman; and nieces, Kristine Lynn Rayl and Rebecca Ann Freeman-McCartney.

Junior enjoyed farming and being outdoors. He enjoyed being around people and joking. He loved life.

He is survived by his sisters, Lola Jane Windon (Wilbur), Shirley Jane Rayl; and nieces and nephews, Shannon Ra Armentrout, Sherry Ann Dennison (Gilmer), William Dale Freeman, Gary Lee Freeman (Mary), and Larry Lee Freeman; and several great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at the Braxton Healthcare Center.

Junior’s funeral will be held 12 Noon, Friday, May 15, 2026, at Roach Funeral Home, 708 Braxton Street, Gassaway with Pastor Linn Schiefer officiating.

Burial will be in the Cox Memorial Cemetery, Birch River.

His visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
