Bessie was a warm and caring person who was one of my grandmother's, Mildred Carder, best friend. Growing up, I remember spending many days swimming in Bessie's pool, eating popsicles, and playing in the water. My favorite memory was when I was sick one summer and had to stay inside for a few days in the heart of summer. Bessie knew it was hard for me so she brought me a cigar box full of fun things to do to occupy my time, along with a plate of my favorite treat - homemade chocolate chip cookies. This act was a testament to the thoughtful, loving, and caring person she always was. She was a shining light and had a positive spirit always. The light of her life was Don, Bill, Sheila, and Dawn Ray. To her family, I send my love and condolences. So sorry Sheila & family. She was a special lady, always so kind to me. She is probably rocking all those babies in heaven.....loving it!!!!!
