Bob and I served at Fort Bragg together, 1970, 71. We were roommates, became good friends, Bob came up to NYS with me one weekend, met friends, family , and my fiance (later my wife). Such a great guy, everyone liked him. Reconnected with Bob , and family, about 20 years ago, still the greatest guy with a wonderful family. So sorry to find out about Bob's death. Sincere condolences to the family.

Sending our Deepest Sympathy to Bob's family during this difficult time. I knew Bob through his work with the fire service and his coroner duties. Gassaway, Braxton County, and the State of West Virginia has lost a great man. All of you can be proud of Bob's life work and the countless numbers of people he compassionately assisted in his work. So many times Bob made contact with a family on the worst day of their lives and could soften the shock and uncertainty that followed an accident, a fire, or an unanticipated death. His selfless dedication was unmatched. You can all be honored by his reputation and service! Gail and I keep all of you in our thoughts and prayers as we remember a great man.

Bob, I just found out today, a saw the fire trucks in town, and I had a feeling, I had just talked to Father on Friday and told Mom I should go see you, I said it's too late when someone is gone. Sorry I didn't make it. I know that you are in a better place, and with no back pain. I just remember how many times staying up at your house, or Robbie down at mom and dads. Robbie and I were always best friends all through school. I remember how mad you were when he decided to become a combat medic, just because of your experience in Vietnam, I know I prayed for Robbie as often as he came across my mind when he was deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq and we talked online about a year ago, he came back without a scratch on him or close to it. I am so proud of him and you and I thought of you as a father, in many ways more than my own. I guess we all gotta be good Christian people and see each other again. God bless Bob, and Godspeed. You were always one of my favorite people. They don't make Bob Stalnakers everyday. Tell the good guys hello for us all, and if you can ask God to bless our nation, I think we can become the best we ever have been, God willing. Sue and Robbie and Family, Take care. I know Bob loved you all dearly. God bless.

Bob was a kind and generous man. I am thankful that he was in my life. He helped myself, and many others, through tough times and could be counted on to be there when you needed him. Bob will be greatly missed. All my love to Sue, Robbie and family.
