Obituaries » Marlene Noble Hunter December 31, 1937 - August 16, 2017 Burial Date August 19, 2017 Marlene Noble Hunter, 79, of Gassaway, WV, passed peacefully at home, after a brief illness on August 16, 2017. Marlene was born on December 31, 1937 in Manila, WV. She was preceded in death by her father, “Dick” Workman and mother, Faye Varney; her first husband, Jerry Noble and infant son, David Noble; her second husband, Ernest Hunter; brothers, Kenneth Workman and Jim Ellis. Marlene is survived by brother, Charles (Nancy) Workman; sister, Emily Shields; son, Don Noble (Anne Hart); daughters, Janet (Matt) Gibson, daughter, Beverly (Mike) Smith; son, Darren (Shawn) Hunter; stepson, Ernie Hunter; stepdaughter, Sharon Hunter. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, Lee, Luke, Shea, Micah, Ashley, Travis, Jonathan, Tiara, Holden, Dan, Jeff, Heather and Jessie and 10 greatgrandchildren. Marlene was a member of Gassaway Church of Christ and lived her life in service to friends and family. She served on the Braxton County Democratic Executive Committee for several years. A Celebration of Marlene’s Life will be noon Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Richard M. Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway with Pastor Vincent Powell officiating. Interment will be in the Sugar Creek Cemetery, Gassaway. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. till time of service at the funeral home. Remembering Marlene as a precious and beautiful addition to our family and so greatly saddened. We were blessed to have had her in our lives. I am praying for comfort and strength for her family and friends. Marlene was such a sweet soul and I know she is at peace in God's loving hands. She blessed my dad with years of kindness and great friendship. It meant the world to all of us. She is so greatly missed. ♥

My thoughts and prayers are with all of Marlene's family. I was blessed to be apart of Marlene's family for many years and cherish the many memories we shared.
