Joshua Ryan Dean departed this life on June 1, 2021. He was born September 14th, 1990 in Gastonia, NC. He is the son of Jerry and Kim Dean and a brother to Lindsey Dean. His maternal grandparents are Jim and Vera Johnson of Frametown, WV. His paternal grandparents are Fred Jr. and Janet Dean of Flatwoods, WV.

Josh was a beautiful, kind soul who would give you the shirt off his back and the last penny in his pocket, even if that meant he would do without. Josh loved sports of all kinds and all genres of music. He loved his family and friends, and treasured being “fun Uncle Dean”.

He loved to travel, see new places, and try new foods. He was our ramblin’ man, wasn’t afraid to jump in his truck and drive across country. In fact, he has done that more than once. He made friends everywhere he went, never met a stranger. Josh was the first person to defend someone who was being made fun of or mistreated.

To quote a couple of his buddies:

“There has to be some thing after this life, because a soul like Dean’s doesn’t just disappear forever.”

“So like Dean always used to say about his favorite Nascar driver… ‘Dale ain’t dead he’s just a lap ahead,’ so neither is Josh Dean, he’s just a lap ahead…

Funeral service will be 1 P.M. Monday June 7, 2021 at Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway, with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating.

Visitation will be three hours prior the service at the funeral home.
