Airman Caleb S. Carr, 20, originally of Gassaway, but stationed at McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey, died Thursday March 17, 2016 as a result of injuries received in a motorcycle accident. He was born April 25, 1995 in Weston, WV. He graduated from Braxton County High School in 2013 then began his lifelong dream of serving his country in the United States Air Force. He was an accomplished Airman, receiving many awards including the National Defense Service Metal and AF Outstanding Unit Award. Caleb loved to play video games, loved his two dogs, Jerry Lee and Heisen and loved to make people laugh.

Caleb is survived by his wife, Shaylah Carr of Southampton, NJ. Father and Stepmother Bobby and Bridget Carr of Gassaway. Mother Amanda Carr. In-Laws, Sandra Morris, Paul Morris, and Shawn and Sherri Morris. Siblings, Ashley, Justin, Cheyenne, Montana, Alexandra, Cody and Clayton. Grandparents, Vivian Carr of Rosedale, George Grounds of Frametown, Greg and Teresa Frame of Duck, Debbie Frame of Maysville, NC and Deborah Bollinger-Johnson. Great-Grandmother, Betty J Frame of Duck. Uncles, Doug Grounds of Frametown and Gregory and wife Katie Frame of Maysville, NC. Two nephews, Levi and Gabriel. One niece, Olivia.

Caleb was preceded in death by his Grandfather Charles Carr and Great-Great Grandmother Faye Workman.

Graveside service with full military honors will be held 1pm Friday, March 25th at the Sugar Creek Cemetery, Gassaway with the Rev. Johnny R. Conrad officiating. Visitation will be Thursday March 24th from 5-9pm and 10am-12pm Friday at the Richard M. Roach Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Operation Welcome Home, an organization assisting Veterans in WV. Donations may be mailed to 452 Mylan Park Lane, Morgantown, WV 26501.
