Marjorie Faye Young, 104, of Strange Creek, passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at the home of her son.

She was born December 20, 1916 in Strange Creek to the late Cleo and Leota Helmick Teets.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Carl Young; sons, Rodney and Roby Young and also an infant son; two brothers; two sisters; daughter in law, Drema Young; grandson, Rodney Young, Jr., and great grandson, Daniel Lee Young, Jr.

Marjorie was a member, teacher and pianist for Eureka United Methodist Church.  She sang with the Carl Young Trio.  Marjorie was a member of the Braxton County Homemakers Club.  She enjoyed sewing and quilting until she was 104 years old.  She also enjoyed gardening and canning until she was over 100 years old.  Marjorie was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and was a good neighbor and teacher.

She is survived by her sons, Raban Young, of Strange Creek, Roland Young and wife, Martha, of Frametown, and Ross Young and wife, Chris, of Strange Creek; daughter in laws, Gay Young of Point Pleasant and Carol Young of Morgantown; 14 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 17 great great grandchildren and 2 great great great grandchildren.

Graveside service will be 2 P.M. Friday, October 29, 2021 at Eureka Church Cemetery, Strange Creek with Reverend Ray Teets officiating.
