Joyce Ann Moore, age 58, of Gassaway, WV, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2020 after a sudden and brief illness surrounded by her two children.

She was born June 07, 1962 in Sutton, WV to the late Earl and Mary Widener Carder.

Joyce was a selfless woman who spent her days worrying about others.  She was a loving and devoted mother, sister, and friend who will be sorely missed.  She was a 1981 graduate from Braxton County High School.  Joyce enjoyed antiquing, making arts and crafts, and loved spending time with her family.  She was an incredible source of inspiration and always knew what to say to comfort someone in their time of need.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents Earl and Mary Widener Carder; foster mother, Helen Mollohan; husband John Moore; siblings, Vicki Carder, Alonzo Carder, Russell Carder, Rick Carder, and Roger Carder; and adopted son, Andrew Pettry.

Joyce will forever be loved and missed by her daughter, Brittany Ball; son, Roy Moore; son-in-law, Joey Ball; stepsons, Shane Moore and Shawn Moore; sister, Ada Stewart; nieces, Jennifer Butcher, Jessica Duckworth, and Amanda Bennett among others; and nephews Ricky Bennett and Robbie Carder, among others.

A celebration of Joyce’s life will be 1 P.M. Sunday, November 22, 2020 at Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway with Reverend Wally Post officiating.

Interment will be in the Poplar Ridge Cemetery, Centralia.

Visitation will be from Noon to 1 P.M. on Sunday at the funeral home.
