Sue Friend, 80, of Gassaway passed away at home on November 15, 2020.

She was born August 9, 1940 in Gassaway to the late Arley Ore Hacker and Beulah Booth Hacker.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Dana Friend, who passed away on October 11, 2020; brothers, Jim, Jack and John Hacker; sisters, Roberta “Jean” Brown and Libby Fergueson.

Sue was a homemaker.  She enjoyed fishing, four wheeling, and horses.  She loved her grandchildren.  She was a member of Little Otter Community Church.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Becky Harris and husband, David, of Gassaway; sisters, Lula Mae Peters and husband, Jr., of Alabama, Carolyn “Skinny” Patrick and husband, Punk, of Gassaway, Sharon Brady and husband, Jim, of Gassaway.   She is also survived by her grandchildren, Christa Lannigan and husband, Adam, Nyssa Carroll and husband, John, and Joni May; great grandchildren, Jon Lannigan, Dana Lannigan, Aliyah Cooke, Damion Cooke, Josh Carr and one expected great grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be 2 P.M. Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Hacker Family Cemetery, Tunnel Fork with Pastor Jim Criner officiating.
