I am sorry to hear of Mary's passing after fighting so long. I didn't know her well but she was always good to my grandparents Mabel and Park Norman and she always had a good story and a laugh. I'll share a fond memory. One summer, as a kid, I was visiting with grandparents at their farm near Stumptown. Mary took her younger brother and sister, my grandmother Mabel, my sister and me to go blackberry picking up "Tater Knob". The road was muddy and steep but Mary pressed her 2-wheel drive pickup truck up the hill. We passed a man coming down the hill in a 4-wheel drive who remarked with surprise that we'd made it that far. We had fun despite ant bites and briars.

I was sorry to hear of another person passing from Rosedale in just a few days. Our family moved to Rosedale when I was in grade school. Mary helped my mom and my grandmother Furr many times. My parents bought the general store from my Grandfather Furr and I have so many wonderful memories from those years. Mary did so much to help our family. She will forever be one of those wonderful memories. So sorry for her family.

No matter where I was when I would her Mary laugh, I always laughed with her. And even now, when I think of her laugh, I smile. She was the best friend and neighbor, always there and always ready to talk and listen. I will miss her with all my heart.

I didn’t know Mrs Cogar until just a few years ago. However, she made me feel like I had known her my whole life. She always rolled out the red carpet for me and I was fortunate enough to taste her delicious cooking! She even made me stay longer so she could cook for my son. She was such a sweet lady and even though I haven’t know her long. I will miss her.
