Treva Mitchell, 85, of Frametown passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at home.

She was born on November 10, 1939, a daughter of the late Van Buren Jarvis and Irene Stalnaker Jarvis.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Mitchell; daughter, Carol Claar; infant grandson, Stevie Claar; and siblings, Anna Lee Carr, and Marie Carr.

Treva was a homemaker. Quilting, gardening and singing at home made her happy. She enjoyed spending time with her family and attending church. She was a member of Charity Baptist Church and she also taught Sunday School at the Belfont Church. Her beautiful personality and smile will be missed.

Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Lennie Shepherd and wife, Wendy, of Atwater, Ohio and James Mitchell Jr. of Frametown; grandchildren, Kenneth Shepherd and wife, Tammy, also Lennie Shepherd, Robert Shepherd, Shania Claar, and Jacob Cole Mitchell; five great grandchildren; two brothers, Virlen “Jink” Jarvis of Ravenna, Ohio, and Van “Gabby” Jarvis of LaGrange, Ohio; one sister, Betty Lovings of North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.

Treva’s funeral will be 1 P.M. Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Roach Funeral Home, 708 Braxton Street, Gassaway, WV with Reverend Johnny Conrad officiating.

Interment will be in the Sugar Creek Cemetery, Gassaway.

Friends may call two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
