Irene Williams, 81, of Frametown went to meet her Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 4, 2024. She was born on August 12, 1942, in Hudson Falls, New York to the late Charles S. Freer and Ruth Marie Chase Freer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Howard Williams; brother, Charles “Chuck” Freer; mother and father-in-law, Howard and Mable Williams; and son-in-law, Butch Hamric. Irene fought the good fight while she was on earth battling cancer. She reveled in being mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She had a green thumb and owned a greenhouse at Frametown for many years. Irene liked to cook and bake, and her family enjoyed the best Christmas Cookies ever. She loved listening to music, and she would often have the television on, but it was on the music channel. Her favorite artists to name a few were Kenny Chesney, Barry Manilow, John Denver and Charlie Pride. If she watched anything on the TV it was Hallmark, Young and the Restless Soap Opera or Perry Mason. Irene loved nature and watching deer and hummingbirds. Left to cherish her memories are her children, Michael Williams and wife, Joanie, of Palmer, Alaska, Cathy Hamric of Rural Retreat, Virginia, Jim Williams and wife, Rhonda, of Frametown and Stephen Williams and wife, Sherrie, of Frametown; grandchildren, Rachel (Jason), Heather (Timothy), Katlyn (Mike), Christopher (Lindsey), Kara (Cody), Krista (Harley), Aaron and Reighlyn; great grandchildren, Colton, Kaylee, Zachary, Jackson, Riley, Megan, Connor, Aiden, Harrison, Marlowe, Preston, Marceline, Lakelyn and Cali; one great-great grandson, Grayson; and several extended family in New York. She was also loved by many people who called her “Mom” and “Grandma”. Irene’s funeral service will be 7 P.M. Friday, August 9, 2024, at Roach Funeral Home, 708 Braxton Street, Gassaway with Pastor Rich Demastus officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
