Betty Flenner Dent Reip, 100, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 20, 2023, surrounded by her two daughters, Donna Pierson and Barbara “Bobbi” Morgan and her cat, Blossom. She is survived also by her pride and joy Grandson, Matthew (Amanda) White and their three great-grandchildren, Cole, Dylan, and Addilyn, and brother-in-law, Elmer Huffman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray; her parents, Milton and Ella Dent; her biological parents, Oval Flenner and Pearl Flenner Curtis; siblings, Earl Dent, Ida Cross, Nevada Ayers, Mearl Riddle, Bernice Dunn, Mary Ella Clark, Patricia Huffman, Charles Curtis, Robert Curtis; and sons-in-law, Fred Morgan and Roy Pierson. Betty was a WWII Marine Corps Veteran; she was a homemaker and one of her greatest joys was cooking and baking for others. She was a Christian and taught Sunday school over the years and later in life she helped her daughter, Donna, with functions at Saint Thomas Catholic Church in Gassaway. She will be missed greatly by her family and friends. She always had a smile and a very joyful soul. Betty was a prayer warrior, and she would get lots of calls for prayer and had been asked many times to visit the sick to pray for their healing. Betty went beyond the word…..Giver…..she truly had the heart of a servant as the Bible speaks of. Her funeral will be 1 P.M. Friday, November 24, 2023, at Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway. Military Rites will be conducted at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Shawver Cemetery, on the Reip Farm, Frametown. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
