Visitation will be from noon to 1p.m., Monday, March 7, 2016 at Richard M. Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway. Immediately following the visitation there will be a graveside service at the Beall’s Mill Cemetery, Gassaway with the Rev. James Mallick officiating.

Aleen B. Rupert, formerly of Thornton, Colorado, passed away at her daughter’s home in Castle Rock, Colorado on Friday, February 26, 2016 surrounded by her loving family who will miss her deeply.
She was born on October 1, 1923 in Gassaway, WV to the late Charles and Amie Berry; she graduated from Gassaway High School in 1941, and then attended Marshall College. Aleen finished her education at Kanawha Valley Hospital as a medical technologist and for many years she worked as the lab tech for the 88th Ave. Medical Clinic in Thornton, Co.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, loved playing bridge, was a voracious reader, but mostly she was the best mother, grandmother, and great grandmother one could ever have. Her contagious laughter was a joy to behold often with a whole room joining in.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Don and sister, Louise Underwood of Alderson, WV.
Her survivors include daughters, Susan and husband, Fred, Nancy; son, Andy; eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
