Roy Otis “Bucky” Utt

Roy Otis “Bucky” Utt, 73, of Sutton entered his heavenly home on Sunday, September 14, 2025.

He was born on February 25, 1952, in Sutton to the late Roy Hurshel Utt and Nina Barker Utt.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Roy Otis “Stacy” Utt, Jr.; stepson, Joey Hall; and sisters, Pauline Ferrell, Jenny Gilbortzzer, Barb Cabiness, Carol Hamric and Betty D. Utt.

Bucky was a coal miner for 32 years. He worked for several coal companies and retired from Brooks Run. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, farming and watching sports on the television. He loved helping and spending time with his family, friends and neighbors.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 41 years, Wanda Lee Carr Utt; son, Douglas Utt of Sutton; grandchildren, Jada, Vicky, Dallas, DeAnna, and Brendan; 4 great grandchildren; brother, Henry Utt of Sutton; sister, Everlyn Chaffins of Sutton; several nieces and nephews and brother-in-law Matt Carr.

In keeping with Bucky’s wishes he will be cremated and a service will be held at a later date.
