Dottie Jean Carr

Dottie Jean Carr, 80, of Frametown, entered her heavenly home on Sunday, March 23, 2025.

She was born on September 15, 1944, in Braxton County, to the late Dorothy Hamrick Cash and Cecil Cash.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Freddy L. Carr and her six siblings.

Dottie was employed by Braxton County Board of Education as a cook and cafeteria manager for 30 years. Her passion was not just providing a meal, but it was showing love to the staff and schoolchildren. She enjoyed flower gardening and taking care of her home and yard. She lived for her grandchildren. Dottie was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Going to the Braxton County Jamboree with her friends was one of her favorite pastimes. Dottie thought the world of her neighbors, Roger and Debbie James, and Gary, Amanda and Elizabeth Cunningham and many more.

Left to cherish her memories are her son, Freddie Lou Carr (Cynthia): daughter, Brenda Baird (Dee); granddaughter, Myriah Baird; great grandchildren, Iris, Clay, and Waylon; several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law (who was more like a sister), Margaret Martin (Ken) and their sons, Jim Moyers (Mindy) and family and Brian Martin.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 2 to 4 P.M. Sunday, March 30, 2025, at Roach Funeral Home, 708 Braxton Street, Gassaway, WV.
