Ramona Laureen Hosey, 68, of Sutton passed away at home surrounded by her family on Sunday, September 15, 2024. She was born on February 25, 1956, in the Gassaway Hospital to the late Russell Clayton Hamrick and Norma Lorraine Frame Hamrick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Loretta Morrison. Ramona was a wife, mother, and a Christian by faith that was active in ministry at the Poplar Ridge Community Church. She was a strong woman and you would always see her with a smile on her face. Mona as some called her, took care of the church garden and enjoyed gardening at home. Her tranquil morning view was of the pasture, pond and horses around her and Gary’s home. It is no surprise that she enjoyed birdwatching and taking care of her dogs. On the creative side, Ramona was a guitar player with a beautiful singing voice and enjoyed sewing and the paper piecing of putting the quilt together. Even though the cancer removed her from this life, she has started a new beginning in Heaven with her Lord and Savior. Left to remember her memories are her husband of 44 years, Gary David Hosey; daughter, Kristi Martin and husband, David, of Centralia; son, David Hosey of Sutton; grandchildren, Lane Martin, Riley Martin, Emily Martin, Maddox Martin and Shae Martin; siblings, Lorraine Brown and husband, Robert, of Buckhannon, Russell “Beaver” Hamrick II and wife, Debbie, of Clay, Corky Hamrick and wife, Timberly, of Clay, Craig Hamrick and wife, Ruth, of Gassaway, Mark Hamrick and wife, Debra, of Clay, and Travis Hamrick and fiancé, Debbie, of Ohio. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, many friends, and her church family. Mona’s service will be 2P.M, Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Poplar Ridge Community Church, Sutton with Pastor Russell Shaw officiating. Her visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Her burial will be in the Poplar Ridge Cemetery, Sutton.
