Marvin Joe Bennett, 63, of Mill Fork, WV entered eternal rest on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family and friends. He fought a long hard fight with COPD and managed to beat lung cancer. He was born in Gassaway, WV on October 25, 1960, to the late Maxine McCumbers Bennett and Gene Bennett. Marvin was the youngest of five children. He grew up on his family farm, where he helped his parents. He was known for being a happy-go-lucky kind of guy, however, he did enjoy giving his siblings a hard time. Marvin was happiest spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed telling stories about growing up, his parents, and work. He loved his great nieces (Kayleigh and Nora) and great nephew (James) dearly. He managed to call others his children, Sara (Lexy and James) and Chris (Danielle, Leah, and Seth). Marvin spent his career in the logging industry. He was well known for operating the skidder. He showed much pride and joy in his work. Marvin was a Baptist and placed his faith with Jesus Christ. He was preceded in death by mother, Maxine; father, Gene; brother, Danny and sister-in-law, Kathy; nephew, Jason McCumbers; brother, Larry and sister-in-law, Roselea; and his paternal and maternal grandparents. Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Belinda; son, Shad (Rebecca); grandson, Blake; granddaughter, Shayla; daughter, Chassidy (Matt); brother, Doyle (Joyce); sister, Nina (Jerden); sister-in-law, Susan; brother-in-law, Freddie (Patty); many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
