Virginia Ann “Piddle” May

Virginia Ann “Piddle” May, 79, of Gassaway passed away on May 22, 2023, peacefully at her home.

Born in Charleston, WV on June 28^th, 1943, to the late Harlan and Wilma Jean Nettles of Gassaway.

Piddle truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures like playing cards, bird watching and listening to her chimes while sitting on the porch.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years Freddie May.( Freddie passed away on June 5, 2023); a son, Christopher May and wife, Misty, of Rock, WV; granddaughters, Abbigail Presley, Zoe May, Mia May and Ryland Barlow; a brother, Greg Nettles and wife, Suzanne, of Philipp; brother-in-law, Eddie May and wife, Myrna; sisters-in-law, Valeen Armstrong and Mary Brandt and husband, Doug; along with several nieces and nephews.

Honoring Virginia’s wishes she will be cremated.

A gathering of family and friends for Piddle and Freddie will be from 12 Noon to 2 P.M. Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway.
