Acel Iona Ramsey Meadows, 93, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend, of Gassaway, passed away peacefully, at home, on Sunday, June 12, 2016. Born July 3, 1922, she was the daughter of William and Manda Dobbins Ramsey, both of whom preceded her in death. Mrs. Meadows was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 68 years, C. Kenton Meadows, Sr.; sisters, Pina Mollohan, Lessie White, Anna White, Glenna Moyers, Eunice Arnold and Arleen Gott; brothers, Charles Ramsey, Creston “Jack” Ramsey, and William Ramsey; three grandchildren, Jeffry Hanks, Meribeth Hanks and Catherine Hanks. Having traveled the world with her husband, Mrs. Meadows was happiest at home in West Virginia and her family was her true joy in life. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Ellen and Herb Hanks, Jane Dittman, Sherry Lewis, Lana and Dale Bowman, and her son and daughter-in-law, C.K. II and Paula Meadows. The family would like to thank the caregivers who provided such special, loving and devoted care to Mrs. Meadows: Shirley Miller, Ann Lamb, Mary Duffield, JoAnn Miller, Ashley Miller, Nannette Rexroad, Dezirae Rexroad, Megan Kolker, & Lilly Duffield. Appreciation is also extended to Hospice Care, especially Alice Facemire & Dr. Sally Stewart, for their kind and conscientious care. Mrs. Meadows was devoted to her family, tap dancing to entertain her children when they were young. She had a wonderful sense of humor, enjoyed singing hymns, quilting and working in her flower bed. “Truly ‘tis so for in Heaven’s own way, each soul is a flower in the Master’s bouquet.” A dedicated servant of God, Mrs. Meadows is now surely a centerpiece in the Master’s bouquet.
