Galentine Jinkens Rhodes

Galentine Jinkens Rhodes, 79, of Duck, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2021 at CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston.

He was born March 16, 1942 in Clay County to the late Hubert and Katherine Ann Jarvis Rhodes.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Jason Rhodes; and brother, Wilbert Rhodes.

His wife of 54 years, Sally Starcher Rhodes, passed away January 5, 2022.

Galentine served in the United States Army.  He was a factory worker for company that made airplane blades for jet engines.  Galentine enjoyed gardening and loved taking care of his dogs.  He was a loving father and husband who was a wonderful provider for his family.  He was a Baptist by faith.

He is survived by his son, Shane Rhodes and wife, Traci, of Norton OH; and daughter, Stephanie Rhodes of Ivydale; grandchildren, Erica Webb, Joshua Rhodes and wife, Shawna, and Chad Rhodes; great grandchildren, Payton and Jason Rhodes; and sisters, Bertha Jackson and Ruby Rhodes both of Columbus, OH.

Joint services for Galentine and Sally will be 2 P.M. Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway, WV.  Interment for Galentine will be in the Polk Duffield Cemetery, Wilson Ridge, Strange Creek.

Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
