Alice Marie Scott, 84, of Grantsville, formerly of Cedarville, passed away at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital, Weston, WV on Sunday, August 29, 2021. She was born at home in Sutton on March 19, 1937 to the late Charles Lonso Green and Myrtle Hamner Green. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Clayton Scott; daughters, Wilma Shields and Brenda Green; brothers William Green and Percy Green; and sisters, Freda Brady, Maxine Mace, Etta Jane Baughman, Oleta Clutter, and Bonnie Stever. Alice was a homemaker. Spending time with her grandchildren gave her the most joy in her life. She could hum and one could often hear her in the back seat of the car humming. She also enjoyed listening to others play guitar. She loved watching television and her favorite shows were the Young and the Restless, The Waltons, Gunsmoke, Bonanza, and Mountain Men. She was a Christian by faith and attended Walnut Memorial Baptist Church. She is survived by her sons, Russell Green and wife, Melissa, of Grantsville, WV, Burl Green of Fort Madison, Iowa, and Bill Scott of Glenville, WV; and daughter, Charlotte Sands and husband, Rick, of Burnsville; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews including her adopted niece and nephew, Tammy Bright and Billy Joe Scott, who both called her mom.
