Interment with Military Rites will be in the Braxton Memorial Cemetery, Sutton. Visitation will be 6 to 8 P.M. Friday, March 12th and one hour before the service on Saturday at the church. Dana Vaughn Perkins, 80, of Gassaway passed away at home on Tuesday, March 9, 2021. He was born October 14, 1940 in Riffle to the late Floda Douglas Perkins and Lee Perkins. In addition to his parents Dana was preceded in death by his sister, Pauline Mosherr; and brothers, Ernest Perkins, Thorton Perkins, Herbert Perkins, Denver Perkins, and infant brother, Eugene Perkins. Dana was a member of Gassaway Baptist Church. He enjoyed doing carpentry work. He was owner of Perkins Gulf Gas Station. He also was a welder’s helper for Bicon and was a driver for Purity Baking Company. In service to his country, Dana was U.S. Army Veteran. He was a crew chief on a Chinook Chopper. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 55 years, Donna Singleton Perkins; sons, Jeff Perkins (Linda), Jerry Perkins (Rena), and Terry Perkins (Amy); grandchildren, Zac Perkins, Bre Perkins, Kaiden Perkins, Tyler Scott, Ben Perkins, Lindsey Heater (fiancé, Tyler Williams), and Garrett Perkins; and great grandson, Brodie Prince; sister, Marjorie Hall; and several nieces and nephews.
