Jackie Lee McCraw, 71, of Gassaway and formerly of Moorefield passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at the Clarksburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Fairmont on April 22, 1949 to the late Fred Lee McCraw, Sr. and Wanda Jane Stump McCraw. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann McCraw who passed away on April 30, 2013; brothers, Fred Lee “Joe” McCraw, Jr., Winifred “Butch” McCraw, Jimmy Ray McCraw; and sisters, Nancy Shaw and Mary Sue Weese. “Pap” or “Old Man” as they called him was an outgoing person and had never met a stranger. In his life he had been a truck driver and a knife sharpener. 30 years sober he continued to be an Alcoholics Anonymous advocate across all of WV and parts of Virginia. He was a Christian by faith. He was a family man and dearly loved his grandbabies. Fishing and cars were his hobbies. He was a pet lover. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Jackie will be forever remembered by his sons, Jackie Jennings “JJ” McCraw of Barberton, OH and John McCraw and wife, Wendy, of Clarksburg; daughter, Freda Eakle and husband, Terry, of Heaters; grandchildren, Amanda McCraw, Brandon White, Jacklynn Eakle, Thomas Eakle, Terra Eakle, and Kynzlee McCraw; brother, Ronnie McCraw of Gassaway; sister, Linda Hensley and husband, David of Gassaway and several nieces and nephews.
