Mary Katherine Duckworth

Mary Katherine Duckworth, 92, of Exchange passed away on Friday, November 13, 2020 at home.

She was born September 21, 1928 in Braxton County, a daughter of the late David Allen Nicholas and Sarah Florence Friend Nicholas.

In addition to her parents Mary was preceded in death by her husbands, Howard Harris and Clarence Nottingham; son, Hosey Nottingham; daughter, Tammy Jane Duckworth; brother, Ernest Nicholas; sisters, Alice Sawyers, Betty Clowser, Faye Tucker, Wilsie Cottrell, and Ida Stout.

Mary was a homemaker.  Many mornings she would watch the Andy Griffith Show and Little House on the Prairie.  She was a quilter.  She enjoyed country cooking and even if you entered her house full one would still want to eat what she was cooking.  She was a gardener.  She loved watching the chickens and roosters at her house.  Mary was a Methodist by faith.  She will be remembered for her loving and kind personality.  She was also a generous person and would help anyone in need.

Mary will be forever remembered by her sons, Marty Harris and wife, Nelma, Donnie Nottingham and Doug Duckworth and wife, Opal; daughters, Patty Boone and husband, Ralph, Evelyn Jarrell and husband, Gary, Kathy Hays and husband, Bob and Sara Gallegos and husband, Joey; brother, Charles Nicholas and wife, Mary; and sister, Alma Duffield, 19 grandchildren,  31 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson; one special granddaughter, Sid White; and former husband, Monk Duckworth.

A graveside service will be 1 P.M. Thursday, November 19, 2020 at Fairview Cemetery, Chapel.
