Darrell Dean Lilly, 71, of Frametown, passed away Friday, June 12, 2020 at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Beckley on January 17, 1949 a son of the late Emily and John Willard Lilly. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, James Lilly, Johnny Lilly, Billy Lilly and Tommy Lilly; and sister, Sue Shrewsbury. Darrell was a retired coal truck driver. He loved to kid and joke. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He enjoyed being outdoors and loved to tinker. Darrell was a birdwatcher. He would often take his four-wheeler on long rides around the house and on his property. He vacationed in the mountains with his family. At night he loved to look up at the stars. Darrell was an excellent cook and when his wife was receiving cancer treatments he would cook for her. He was a Baptist by faith and he was a United States Army Veteran. Darrell will be fondly remembered by his spouse of 37 years, Cheryl Lilly; his very loved Fur Boy, Benny; children, Jonathan Lilly and wife, Heather of Port Washington, WI, Jason Lilly and wife, Angie of Frametown, WV, Kristen Rudder and husband, Aaron of Fredericksburg, VA, Nicole Wright and husband, Robert of Frametown; sisters, Debbie Hopkins and husband, Jim, Linda Hopkins and husband, David, Margaret Landis and husband, Jere, and Judy Lilly; brothers Raymond Lilly, Gary Lilly, and Eddie Lilly; mother-in-law, Carolyn Patrick; brother-in-law, Billy Patrick; grandchildren, Braydex, Emma, Grace, Aliya, Desiree, Meyah, Jayden, Brayden, and Spencer. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank his WV Caring Team nurses, Kim D., Kim H., Andrea H., Brandy, Debbie P. and Cheryl C.; Social Worker, Sandy; Chaplain, Rick Price.
