Christina Kay McCumbers

Christina Kay McCumbers, 48, of Gassaway, passed away October 30, 2019 at the University of Kentucky Hospital, Lexington, KY.

She was born September 19, 1971 in Gassaway.

Christina was a housewife, mother, and loved to spoil her grandchildren.  She enjoyed cooking, watching comedy movies, but mostly enjoyed spending time with her family.  She was a Christian by faith and a member of Gassaway Baptist Church.

Christina was preceded in death by her sister, Lynn Ann Rexroad; grandfather, Harold Rexroad; and grandmother, Kathleen Skinner.

Christina is survived by her husband Charles McCumbers, Jr.; sons, Marc Cristopher Carson of Gassaway WV, Kevin Joseph Carson and wife, Nicole of Parkersburg WV, and Nickolas Talor Carson and wife, Bridgett of Flatwoods WV; father, Michael Rexroad and wife, Marsha of Gassaway; mother, Linda Skinner Rexroad and companion, Roger of Walkerton, VA; paternal grandmother, Veneda Christine Rexroad of Gassaway; sisters, Leslie Toppings and husband, Bobby of Glenville WV, and Barbara Myers and husband, Bo of Gassaway WV; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles Sr. and Loretta McCumbers of Gassaway; several grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

In keeping with her wishes, Christina will be cremated.  A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
