Rebecca Bender, 83, of Gassaway, passed away July 17, 2019 at Braxton County Memorial Hospital, Gassaway. She was born January 20, 1936 in Charleston a daughter of the late William and Ruth Stonestreet McGinnis. She was preceded in death by husband, Carl Bender. She was a bookkeeper and did tax preparation in Charleston. She was a member of the Gassaway United Methodist Church. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by son, Matthew Bender of Gassaway; daughter, Katrina “Trina” Nicholas of New Mexico; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
