Darius Lee Davis

Darius Lee Davis, 75, of Gassaway, passed away June 13, 2019 at Louis A .Johnson VA Medical Center, Clarksburg.

He was born June 10, 1944 in Gassaway to the late Alton Davis and Ocie Cummings Davis.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Vance “Pete” Davis.

Darius retired from Akron Special Machinery.  He was a member of the American Legion Post 0200 of Charleston.  He was also a member of the National Rifle Association.  He was fortunate to have coached his son and his grandson in baseball.  He also enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting.  He was an army veteran.

He is survived by his son, Matthew Davis and wife, Erica of Akron, OH; daughter Laura Hall and husband, Sean of Akron; grandsons, Rhett Alton Davis and James Martin Lee Hall; sisters, Helen Hacker and husband, Wayne of Gassaway, and Susan Bailey and David Robinson of Black Water Falls, NY.

Funeral service will be 3 P.M. Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway.  Interment with military rites will be in the Sugar Creek Cemetery, Gassaway.

Friends may call two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
