Donnie Dencil Belknap, 81, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of June 6, 2017 at his New Concord, OH residence. Donnie was born in Exchange, WV on December 10, 1935. He is the son of the late Donnie and Juanita (Rockhold) Belknap. He worked for 38 years with the Ohio Ferro Alloy, having worked in Philo and in Alabama before retiring in 2001 and settling down in New Concord. He enjoyed keeping fruit trees and gardening and he loved spending time with his family and grandchildren and great-grandson. Donnie served his nation proudly in the US Air Force. Donnie is survived by his wife Ruth (Sponaugle) Belknap whom he married February 16, 1961; his two sons Paul (Betty) Belknap of Blue Rock and David Belknap of New Concord; his three grandchildren Brooke, Colt and Jason; his great-grandson River; his five brothers Russell Belknap of Chapel, WV; Denver Belknap of Canton, OH, Frank Belknap, Wes Belknap and Wade Belknap all of Exchange, WV; his two sisters Mary Norman of Texas and Kathy Hall Belknap of Zanesville. In addition to his parents, Donnie is preceded in death by his brothers Wendell Belknap and Carlen Belknap and his sisters Vera June Norman and Wilma Belknap.
