Funeral service will be at 12 noon at Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church in Gassaway with the Reverend Barbara Accord officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the church.

Hilda Agnes Frame, 99, of Gassaway, passed away on March 26, 2017, at Braxton County Memorial Hospital.

Hilda was born on November 29, 1917 to the late John E. and Ollie C. Hopkins.

Hilda had a 50-year career as a registered nurse. She graduated from the University of Virginia School of Nursing in 1939, an achievement she was very proud of. Following graduation, she worked at the UVA hospital for eight years. In 1949, she moved to Gassaway and worked at the Gassaway Hospital until it closed in 1975. From 1975 until 1979, she worked at Summersville Memorial Hospital. From 1980-1982, she was employed by the Early Childhood Development Program in Braxton County. Upon the opening of Braxton County Memorial Hospital, she worked there from 1982-1989.

She was a long time member of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church serving as an ordained Elder, fellowship chairwoman, and member of Women’s Fellowship Service.

An active gardener, she was known throughout the community for her flower and vegetable gardens. Hilda is survived by her son, Jarrett (Mary) of Fredericksburg, VA; nieces, Elizabeth Yates (Chris) of Keswick, VA, Ann Darling (Dave) of Berkeley Springs, WV, Judith Hagerty (Rick) of Green Valley, AZ, Debra Quinn (David) of Wilmington, DE; nephew, Galen Hagerty of Auburn, AL.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by husband Charles; sisters, Evelyn, Betty, Mary; brother, William.
