Billy E. Dobbins

Billy E. Dobbins, 52, of Gassaway entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, with his family by his side at Camden Clark Hospital, Parkersburg, WV.

He was born on November 25, 1973, in Gassaway to Francis Carpenter Dobbins and the late Robert Eugene Dobbins.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Jacquline May Dobbins; his paternal grandparents, Leona Burns Dobbins and Lee Dobbins; and his maternal grandparents, Jacquline Blossar Carpenter and John Carpenter.

Billy had a strong work ethic and completed his 30th year of employment with Appalachian Timber Services. He was avid outdoorsman who enjoyed turkey hunting, riding the side-by-side, and being in nature. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Some years, he and his wife would grow vegetable gardens. Billy will be deeply missed by his family and his many friends and coworkers.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife and best friend of 25 years, Bobby Lou James Dobbins; daughter, entering her 8th grade year, Kaitlyn Taylor Dobbins; mother, Francis Gay Dobbins; brothers, Johnlee (Mary) Dobbins, Luke Dobbins, Jacob Dobbins all of Gassaway, and Francis Joe (Sarah) of Ohio; sisters, Clara Yale and Becky Dobbins both of Gassaway, and Mary Ellen Dobbins (Jason) of South Carolina; brother-in-law, William James, of Frametown; nephews, Cole Dobbins and Cody James; nieces, Michelle Yale, Cassidy James, Kylie James, and Misty Keener; great nieces, Jaxon Cutlip and Adeline James; great nephews, Xander Cutlip and Cohen James; and close friends, Robert Dobbins and Jason Wayne.

Billy’s funeral service will be 1 P.M. on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway with Pastor Rick Gibson officiating.

His visitation will be from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. at the funeral home.

Interment will be in the Perkins Cemetery, Chapel.
