Per Harold’s wishes he will be cremated and there will be no services. The Wilson family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses, and staff who took such wonderful care of him during this difficult time and all of the thoughts, prayers, and donations of food from neighbors and friends. Most of all thanks to our wonderful family for all your loving care and for just being there when we needed you. We are truly blessed to have you. Harold Blaine Wilson, 72, of Gassaway, WV passed away on June 3, 2026, from complications of esophageal cancer. He was born on December 25th, 1953, in Richwood, WV to the late Harry Blaine Wilson and Virginia Mae Simms Wilson. He graduated in 1971 from Braxton County High School and then joined the Army during the Vietnam War, serving in the 1st Armored Division. Afterwards he worked for CSX Railroad (the old B&O and Chessie System) as a Maintenance of Way employee and later was a Vice Chairman in the BMWE Union. He loved the work and the people he worked with. He loved hunting, fishing, sports, and one of his greatest joys was doing these with his children and grandchildren. He leaves behind his wife of 49 years, Elizabeth (Libby) Rose Wilson; his sons, Andy (Kari) Wilson of Richmond, KY, Adam Wilson of Charleston, WV, Eric (Amy) Wilson of Gassaway, WV; and daughter, Mary Beth (Patrick Bolling) Wilson of Virginia Beach, VA; grandchildren, Brylee Wilson, Jacob Wilson, Keeley Bolling, Spencer Wilson, Brody Wilson, Emily Wilson, Parker Wilson and Camden Wilson, who were the light of his life. Also surviving are his sisters, Rhonda (Jimmy) Williams of Frametown, WV and Sherri (Brian) Carr of Frametown, WV; many cousins; and nieces and nephews.
