Elbin James “Jim” Jarvis, 80, of Strange Creek, WV born March 27, 1946, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2026 shortly after his 80th birthday following a long illness.

Jim was a gentle man and a gentleman and had many friends who appreciated those qualities.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Maggie Carpenter Jarvis; three sisters, Shirley Kay Jarvis, Charlotte Hyer, and Mary Halstead; and one brother, Bobby Jarvis.

He is survived by two sisters, Linda Robinson and Amy Glover and husband, Mike, of Strange Creek and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his beloved rescue dog, Mason and his cat, Sonny.

Jim started working at a very young age and spent the next 60+ years in retail sales, including several businesses he owned. He recently closed his booth (due to his health) at the Antique Mall where he enjoyed working for the last several years. Jim loved primitive log cabins, country cooking, and old-fashioned flower gardens as they reminded him of a gentler time of his life.

In keeping with his wishes he will be cremated and private inurnment will be in the Jarvis Family Cemetery, Strange Creek, WV.
