Steven Hugh Mitchell, 66, of Wilsie, passed away June 11, 2025, at home from a long illness.

He was born December 19, 1958, in Gassaway, a son of the late Charles Hugh Mitchell and Ellen Isophene “Icie” Moyers Mitchell.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by infant sister, Ellen Louise Mitchell.

Steve worked in the logging business and as a laborer but had been disabled for several years. He attended Charity Baptist Church as a child and retained his faith in God throughout his life. In his younger days, Steve enjoyed hunting, four wheeling, and was an avid reader of historical fiction.

He is survived by daughter, Alecia Cline of New Iberia, LA; grandchildren, Nicholas Cline, Anna Cline, Michael Cline and Benjamin Cline; aunt, Marilyn Moyers Gillenwater and husband, Terry, of Fishers, IN; uncle, William “Bill” Moyers and wife, Susan, of Seminole, FL; and several cousins.

A memorial service for Steve will be held 5 P.M. Friday, July 11, 2025, at Hope Baptist Church, Frametown with Reverend Rich Demastus officiating.
