Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Ryan Seth Rollyson, 41, of Wilsie, WV was born on February 13, 1984, in Braxton County, WV. Tragically, Ryan was taken from us far too soon, passing on Saturday, June 14, 2025. He was the beloved son of Lynette Duckworth Grantham and Walter Rollyson (Shelly Sparks). Their houses were always open to him. No parent should ever have to bury their child. Though gone, he is not forgotten; his family will hold on to all the loving memories. Ryan was the cherished grandson of the late Ernest Beecher and Allee Joy Rollyson and Steve and Janet Duckworth. He held a special bond with his family and spent a lot of his time with his grandparents. Joy always made sure his hair and clothes looked perfect before he headed off to school. Beecher taught him the art of finding and digging ginseng. Ryan and Janet enjoyed working puzzles together. Papaw Steve’s love of horses led to Ryan getting a pony when he was little; however, that only lasted for a few days of fun. The legacy of grandparents, the wisdom they shared, the love they gave, and the memories they left behind, Ryan forever cherished. Following his grandparents passing, Phaela “Sissy” Mann stepped in as Ryan’s rock. Sissy provided him with invaluable guidance and unwavering support during his most challenging times. She was a constant source of strength, always available for him day or night, providing the comfort and care he so desperately needed. In addition to his parents, Ryan’s memory lives on through his brother, Cody Bostic and wife, Amy, along with their children; Mallory, Magnolia, and Max; his cherished sister, Kendra Rollyson; maternal aunts and uncles, Craig Duckworth, Rick Duckworth and wife, Joyce, Myra Duckworth, Todd Duckworth and wife, Deb, Ken Duckworth and wife, Martha and Kristi Lancaster and husband, Chad; cousins, Tena Mann and Cynthia Boone and husband, Bobby, who were like sisters to him; several aunts and uncles including , Emmanuel Carr and wife, Ann, Noble Rollyson and wife, Anita, Sissy Mann and husband, Freddie; numerous aunts and uncles, cousins and other family members. Ryan is preceded in death by both sets of grandparents; his uncle, Calvin Rollyson; cousins, Kevin Rollyson and Walkeria Rollyson Hudkins; and aunt, Mary Duckworth. In his younger years, Ryan found faith when he was saved and baptized. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, practicing karate, and engaging in various sports. Ryan loved visiting with his little sister, Kendra, often giving her hugs and gifts. Sadly, he visited Kendra and brought her gifts the day before his passing. To Ryan, his little sister was so sweet, loving and special. There was no judgment – just innocent, unconditional love that brought him so much joy. Ryan and his brother Cody shared the same work ethic and often had lively discussions about vehicles and work. He also enjoyed spending time and conversations with his cousins, Doran Carr, Alicia Pritchard (Seth), McKayla Boone (Ronnie), Cordelia James (Austin), and Cody Hammack. He relished the moments that he got to spend with his cousins and their children. Ryan was an incredibly talented artist; he could draw anything just by observing it. He enjoyed life, loved his family and loved four-wheeling. Ryan’s career had him traveling in multiple states. Formerly he was a laborer with BiCon but worked to obtain the AWS CWI, NACE CIP Level 2 Coating Inspector and QC1 Welding Inspector on pipelines. Ryan had a big heart and a captivating smile that would light up a room. He never knew a stranger and was a true friend. We can’t believe he’s gone and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Ryan’s funeral will be 1 P.M. Friday, June 20, 2025 at Roach Funeral Home, 708 Braxton Street, Gassaway, WV with Pastor Rick Hart officiating. Burial will follow in the Rollyson Family Cemetery, Wilsie. His visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
