In keeping with Janice’s wishes she will be cremated.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 2 to 3 P.M. Thursday, August 29, 2024, at Roach Funeral Home, 708 Braxton Street, Gassaway.

Janice’s Memorial Service will follow at 3 P.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Brace Cook officiating.

The family would like to give special thanks to her caretaker, Brenda Foy, for her compassionate care of Janice.

Janice Marks, 65, of Gassaway, WV passed away on Friday, August 23, 2024, at UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh, PA.

She was born on October 9, 1958, to Betty Jacqueline Key.

Janice was a homemaker. On her land, she cared for and loved her cats, chickens, horses and cows. She also enjoyed spoiling her Blue Heeler, Millie. In her spare time, she liked to cover up with her throws and play games on her tablet and watch soap operas. Janice loved fresh flowers and eating anything chocolate even though she was not allowed to have any. Purple was her favorite color. She enjoyed seeing and talking with her family and friends.

Janice is survived by her husband of 31 years, Dale Marks; children, Pamela Brown (Shane), Mandy Stone (Nathan), Joseph Marks (Ashley), Kimberly Marks (Spanky), Johnna Marks (Timothy), and Jason Marks (Brandy); grandchildren, Mikayla, Nickolas, Bryan, Aaron, Kenzie, Isabell, Dakota, Dalton, Ethan, Logan, Nataleigh, Amelya, Grayson, Noah, Porter, Scarlett; sisters, Vickie Key and Kathy Uldrich (Bill); several brothers and sisters-in-law; several nieces and nephews; and close friends, Mike Singleton and Virginia Quinn.
