Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Larry Joe Hayhurst, 91, of Sun City Center, Florida, formerly of Gassaway, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2022 at his home in Florida. He was born on June 26, 1931 in Gassaway to the late Earl “Peanuts” Hayhurst and Carrie Gunter Hayhurst. In addition to his parents he was preceded by his wife of 35 years, Theda Haymond Hayhurst; sisters, Karen Hayhurst Chenoweth and Laura Hayhurst; and grandson, Joshua Taylor. Larry was a United States Army and Air Force veteran. He worked as a postal worker and retired after 30 years. Earlier in his life he played football at Marshall University for a while. He was a wonderful husband and family man. He is survived by his daughter, Lee Christensen, of Sun City Center, Florida; sister, Janet Hayhurst Gentry of Belpre, Ohio; grandchildren, Traci Mills, David Christensen, and Katrina Sellers; six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
