Bettie Lou Jarvis, 82, of Gassaway, passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at the WV Caring Hospice Center, Elkins, WV.

She was born February 16, 1939 at Duck, WV to the late Jessy J. and Lucretia Tanner Paintiff.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her grandson, Adam Rollyson; brothers, Grover, Richard, Walt, Tom, Roy, and Russell; and sisters, Blanche, Ruby, and Stella.

Bettie was a homemaker and also worked for a while at Jim’s Roller Rink.  She truly enjoyed taking care of her yard and loved the outdoors.  Birdwatching was one of her hobbies. She liked to watch the Walker Texas Ranger TV Show and liked to listen to bluegrass music.  Bettie was an avid quilter.  She was a Christian by faith and was ready to go to her heavenly home.  She was a problem solver who had high standards.  Bettie loved her family and she will truly be missed.

Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Chelsie “Bud” Rollyson and companion, Renee Rollyson, and John Jarvis and wife, Vicki, all of Gassaway; grandchildren, Amber Francis and husband, Mike, Kristie Arbogast and husband, Bryant, Joshua Brown, Chelsea Sartin and husband, Danny, and Samantha Scarff; and sister, Bessie Rice.  She is also survived by several great and great great grandchildren and her dog, Scooter.

Bettie’s graveside service will be 1 P.M. Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Walnut Grove Cemetery, Strange Creek with Reverend Linn Schiefer officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Roach Funeral Home, 708 Braxton Street, Gassaway, WV  26624 to assist with funeral expenses.
