Joshua Hacker, 32, of Exchange, passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at WVU Ruby Memorial Hospital due to a short illness.

He was born May 13, 1989 in Buckhannon, WV.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mary and Bayward Butler; and his paternal grandparents, Thelma and Arthur Hacker.

Josh worked as an electrician.  He was a good father and if he wasn’t working he was spending time with his family.  He was a blacksmith and gunsmith and enjoyed woodworking and anything that he could do with his hands.  He would help anyone who needed it.  He was an animal person who loved dogs.  In his spare time he watched the TV shows, Forged in Fire, What on Earth (science show), and How Its Made.  He also was a Bigfoot enthusiast.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jessica Hacker; son, Tristan James Hacker; mother, Kandee Butler of Exchange; father, Thomas Ray Hacker and wife, Vada, of Exchange; brother, Kenneth Hacker and wife, Christy, of Fairmont; half-brothers, Daniel Nicholson of Buckhannon; Thomas Nicholson and wife, Chasity, of North Carolina, Stephen Hacker of Exchange; half-sisters, Misty Heater and husband, Jason, of Heaters, and Sherri Hacker of Heaters; and a large extended family.  He also leaves behind his three dogs.

Josh was cremated and a private service will be held at a later date.
