On Monday, July 6, 2020, Marilyn Kay Brown passed away surrounded by loved ones, at the age of 68.

Marilyn was born January 10, 1952 in Charleston, WV.  She served as a lieutenant in the Birch River Volunteer Fire Department for many years and worked for the WVDOT for 10 years.  Her main priority was raising her four children, Judy Scarbrough, Richard Brown, Sarah Brown, and Charity Baker.  Marilyn enjoyed visiting WVU football games with her friends, Debbie and Steve, and spent much of her time sitting outside with her dogs, Oscar, Barkley, and Todd.  She was known for her kind heart and fiery personality.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her mother and father, Mavis and Jim Workman; daughter, Judy Scarbrough; son, Robert Brown; and brothers, Jeff and Robert Workman.

She is survived by children, Richard, Sarah, and Charity; siblings, Angela, James, Mike, Kenneth, and Steve; grandchildren, Zachery, Cara, Hayley, Michael, Jessica, Triston, Jacob, Kimberly and Isak; and several great grandkids, nieces and nephews.

She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

In keeping with Marilyn’s wishes she was cremated and a memorial service will be held August 1, 2020 at Carnifex Ferry.
