Roger Lee Brooks, 62, of Burnsville passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2020 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He was born December 17, 1957 in Sutton, a son of the late Jerry Adam and Maggie Ratliff Brooks.

Roger worked as a heavy equipment operator and retired from the WV Department of Highways.  He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting.    He spent the majority of his time at Burnsville Marina.  Roger never met a stranger and was always willing to help and give of his time.

He is survived by his brothers, Jerry “Tyke” Brooks, Jr of North Lima, OH, Donald G. Brooks and wife, Edith, of Jackson, SC, and Arthur W. Brooks, and wife, Barbara, of Alliance, OH; nieces and nephews, Robin, Steve, Lisa and AJ along with many grand nieces and nephews; Bonnie Edwards, whom he loved like a daughter, of Smithers, WV; and his pal, his dog, Buddy and his cat, Dick.

Roger loved his buddies that went road tripping with him. Roger’s good friends were more like family to him.  His family would like to thank his friends and buddies.

In keeping with Roger’s wishes he will be cremated and a gathering of family and friends will be held at 5 to 8 P.M. Monday, June 29, 2020 at Burnsville Lake at Pavilion #3.
