Wayne “Alan” Utt, 57 of Sutton, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2020 at University of Virginia Medical Center, Charlottesville, VA.

He was born February 12, 1963 in Braxton County, a son of the late Carol Utt Hamric.

Alan was a Superintendent for Patriot Development Corporation for 15 years.  He was an avid MOPAR man and was a dirt track racer.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and working with his son in the garage.  He was a wonderful provider for his family.  He loved his grandchildren and his family and friends.

In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie Utt.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 36 years, Kathy Skidmore Utt; son, Nathan Utt and Kayla Munson, of Centralia; sister, Lecia Yingling and Joe of Bunker Hill, WV; stepfather, Lee “Buck” Hamric of Martinsburg; grandchildren, Clayton Todd Alan “Buddy” Utt, Alexis DeHaven and Landon DeHaven; nieces and nephews, Tyler Kidwell, LeAnn Utt, Jessie Cross, and Jeffrey Chaffins and wife, Saria; great nephew, Gabriel; sisters-in-law, Ellen Utt and AnnMarie Chaffins and husband, Tommy; brother-in-law, Walter Skidmore and wife, Tamara; father-in- law and mother-in-law, Harley and Mary Skidmore; and many aunts and uncles.

Private family service will be held at Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway.

Private interment will be in the Barker Ridge Cemetery, Sutton.
