Eric J. Rexroad, 60, of Gassaway passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at home surrounded by his family.

He was born on January 6, 1966, in Sutton to the late Junior D. Rexroad and Evelene Dobbins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Matthew Thomas Oney.

Eric was a 1985 Braxton County High School graduate. He worked several jobs during his lifetime including his last employment as a HVAC technician. Watching NASCAR and Gomer Pyle on the television were his favorite pastimes. He also enjoyed fishing in the summertime. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 36 years, Deanna Oney Rexroad; son, Nathan Rexroad and fiancé, Priscilla “Silby” Queen; granddaughter, Khloe Rexroad; several adopted grandsons, Darrell Rose, Tegan Rose, Matthew Rose, Sora Rose and Kenshin Rose; brothers, Jimmy Rexroad and wife, Darlene, and Ronny Rexroad and wife, Mary; several nieces and nephews; and his Yorkie service dog, Anna Marie.

His visitation will be 6 to 8 P.M. on Friday, February 6, 2026, at Roach Funeral Home, 708 Braxton Street, Gassaway, WV.

Eric’s funeral will be held 11 A.M. Saturday, February 7th at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Stump officiating.

Burial will follow in the Chrisman Cemetery, Chapel.
