David Arlos Cutlip peacefully passed away at home, the evening of Sunday, December 14, 2025, surrounded by family.

David was born November 21, 1946, in Gassaway, WV to Charles “Spanky” Cutlip and Francine McMorrow Cutlip.

He graduated from Gassaway High School and was president of the senior class of 1965. David served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and graduated from Marshall University where he was a member of Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity.

David worked in a variety of settings including grant writing, served as the director of The Boys Club of Huntington, and was a brakeman for the B&O railroad. Later in life he became self-employed as a carpenter, specializing in cabinetry. He always loved farming, gardening, hunting and spending time at his camp with his children, grandchildren and friends.

David was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Stephen Earl Cutlip.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Judy Dailey Cutlip, of Gassaway; daughters Jennifer King (John) of Clendenin and Sarah Bailey (Ross) of Morgantown; four grandchildren Caroline and Eliza King and Julianna and A.J. Bailey; and his sister, Sue Wymer.

Per his wishes, David will be cremated and the family will host a private celebration of his life at a later time.
